Susan and Kevin dreamed of a destination wedding in Maui, an elopement…. something easy where they could celebrate their passionate love story together and away from it all. Instead, as fate would have it, they rented a beautiful vacation home and married on the shores of Lake Tahoe in front of friends, family and most importantly…the grand girls in a small intimate wedding. As it turns out, the grandchildren delightfully coerced the beautiful Tahoe wedding so that they could take their rightful place on the aisle with beloved grandmother Susan. Susan told me on multiple occasions that her granddaughters are everything to her so obviously Kevin and Susan altered plans and decided on a destination wedding on shores of Skylandia State Park Lake Tahoe, just several hours drive into the Sierras from home in the Bay area. Everything was perfect.
Above all what struck me most about the day was the tenderness between Kevin and Susan and the constant flow of love, joy and affection between them. It bubbled over like the champaign flowing into and over the glass in one of the final images of the night. It was an honor to be part of their special day and to be invited into the love story and share in joining of these two families.
